Intomics

Intomics is a privately owned biotechnology company spun out from the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis, Technical University of Denmark in 2008 to provide state-of-the-art solutions within biological data analysis to proprietary data for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Intomics is based in Lyngby, Denmark

Intomics help companies in the life science sector optimize their use of biomedical data in Research and Development projects. As data generation becomes cheaper and cheaper, discovering the underlying biology from high-throughput data becomes key. Based on our proprietary tools, databases, and unique knowledge we provide customized analyses and solutions that meet the need of the individual customer in every project, hereby increasing success rate at reduced expense.

We have leading expertise in biomedical analysis and mining, bioinformatics, and systems biology, and have strong experience with a broad range of data types, including transcriptomics, proteomics, protein-protein interactions, free text resources, genome-wide association studies. Our services are relevant in various stages of drug research, and have with great success been used in areas such as biomarker discovery and optimization, target identification, drug discovery, patient stratification and translational research.

Data Mining

Costly high-throughput experiments generate large amounts of data and extracting the valuable information from these is not trivial. Intomics have expertise in mining diverse data types, such as whole genome sequences, genetic variation among individuals (single nucleotide polymorphisms and copy number variation), data from DNA microarrays and next-generation sequencing techniques, protein abundance data and post-translational modifications as well as unstructured text (e.g. patient records, abstracts, and full-text papers).

Network Analysis

Complex phenotypes such as common diseases and drug response are caused by a multitude of alleles in combination. Networks of physical interactions and functional relationships among proteins and small molecules have proven to be powerful tools for elucidating the underlying protein complexes, genetic modules, and mechanisms of action. Intomics have key competences in this field and can provide state-of-the-art network analyses to discover complex relationships in your transcriptomics, proteomics or genome-wide association studies.

Target Prioritization

By combining evidence from multiple hetero-geneous experiments it is possible to better prioritize gene or drug candidates. We have extensive experience in integrating data across experimental platforms, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. Additionally, we can combine your proprietary data with the vast amounts of information stored in publicly available databases to increase their value.

Text-Mining

Most knowledge in the biomedical domain is stored as free text. The Intomics team includes experts on the application of text-mining tools to biomedical problems. Thus we can offer customized analyses of the unstructured text found in scientific articles, clinical records, electronic lab books and internal documents.
