LifeCycle Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company, has announced that Karin Hamberg, the company's executive vice president and chief medical officer has decided to step down from her position in order to pursue other career opportunities outside the company.

Ms Hamberg joined LifeCycle Pharma in June 2008 and took over the position as chief medical officer in November 2008.
In connection with Ms Hamberg’s resignation, Anderson Gaweco, vice president of clinical development US, will be acting as chief medical officer.
Mr Gaweco joined LifeCycle Pharma in February 2009. Mr Gaweco’s previous positions include scientist and management positions at Roche, Pfizer, Astra-Zeneca as well as academic positions, mainly within the transplantation field, in Germany and in the US. Mr Gaweco’s most recent position was as director of clinical science, virology and transplantation at Roche.
