news.IS Pharma, a specialist hospital medicines company, has launched its critical care brand, Isoplex, a balanced electrolyte plasma substitute, in the UK.

According to the company, Isoplex will be used in situations where a patient is losing blood, such as trauma or surgery, and there is a need to increase blood volume while maintaining the body’s natural balance of minerals and salts. The majority of usage is expected to be in operating theatres, A&E and intensive care units.
IS Pharma said that it will now seek to gain regulatory approvals in other European markets based on the UK approval.
