Alongside our world class facilities, our parent company SCA Packaging has a preeminent Innovation Centre, researching and developing new materials and complimentary technologies. SCA Cool Logistics has commissioned a new rapid advanced simulation technology system to work alongside ‘Cognition’ to reduce prototyping and timescales whilst ensuring maximum performance. Our dedicated team is committed to continuing its Technical Leadership in
this field.

SCA Laboratory Services

Our focus is on system design and we have a large, fully resourced dedicated facility where we develop and qualify all of our temperature controlled packaging systems. We have 27 environmental chambers of varying sizes, with operating capabilities from -50°C up to +50°C which are able to test our complete range of box sizes, from the smallest shippers to the largest pallet shippers, with some chambers having enough capacity to test imperial pallet-sized loads and small courier vans. We also have walk-in chillers and freezers for conditioning coolants prior to test.

The SCA Cool Logistics Laboratory services deliver a complete technical, design and project management support solution for your business needs. We work to our customers’ exacting requirements and protocols but also have a strong understanding and work to all the industry agreed standards such as – International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), United Nations (UN), and World Health Organisation (WHO).

CFD Simulation

SCA Cool Logistics has made significant investment in Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) technology. This powerful tool enables us to now produce ‘virtual’ prototypes and qualify their performance. The software also allows us to predict how a shipping system will be affected when subjected to ambient profiles outside those to which it was originally designed; this can offer peace of mind to customers who wish to use a particular system on a new, unqualified shipping lane.
