Takeda Lampion Pack Receives Japanese Approval

Takeda Pharmaceutical has received approval from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for Lampion Pack, secondary eradication of Helicobacter pylori (H Pylori).

Lampion Pack is a single pack containing Lansoprazole (Japanese brand name: Takepron capsules 30), amoxicillin hydrate (Japanese brand name: Amolin capsules 250) and Metronidazole.

Takeda said that a triple therapy with a proton pump inhibitor, amoxicillin hydrate and clarithromycin is the eradication of H Pylori for gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric MALT lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and the stomach after endoscopic resection of early stage gastric cancer in Japan.

Takeda stated that a secondary triple therapy regimen, replacing clarithromycin with metronidazole, used in the case where H Pylori is still not eradicated with this treatment, has also received approval in Japan.
