PharmaInformatic develops new database PACT-F

PharmaInformatic has developed a comprehensive database on bioavailability to develop targeted new drugs.

The new knowledge base, called PACT-F (Preclinical And Clinical Trials Knowledge Base on Bioavailability) combines the results and experiences of the last hundred years of drug research and helps to analyse the factors, which affect the oral bioavailability of drugs.

Began in 2005, the knowledge base with 8296 records contains results and conditions of more than 5000 scientific publications, which have been evaluated and integrated into the database.

It also has 17 additional fields, which describe the experimental conditions of the trials and also works as a fundamental tool to develop computer models.

PharmaInformatic founder and CEO Wolfgang Boomgaarden said the research is a step forward in the area of drug development and will improve the efficiency of clinical trials in humans.

”Fundamental new findings and conclusions can be derived from the knowledge base which will impact future drug discovery and development, ” Boomgaarden added.
