Gerresheimer and FM Plast help Malteser Hilfsdienst by donating bottles and caps for disinfectants

Hand sanitizer is currently a scarce commodity. Malteser Hilfsdienst, a German aid organization, is now feeling the effect of this, as are many other healthcare facilities. For this reason, Malteser Hilfsdienst is producing urgently needed hand sanitizer in its own hospital pharmacy for the first time in accordance with WHO guidelines. However, so it can also be used at its intended destination, i.e. in hospitals and above all by the rescue service and mobile Malteser services, it must first be put into handy bottles. Gerresheimer and FM Plast are providing the bottles and caps required for this purpose of their own accord and at no cost.

“We are extremely grateful that Gerresheimer and FM Plast are helping us and providing us with several thousand bottles and caps; otherwise, we really don’t know how we would have been able to supply the urgently needed hand sanitizer to our facilities,” says Daniel Linzbauer, Head of Purchasing at Malteser Hilfsdienst gGmbH.

“I would have never thought that I would have been able to make such a contribution in my career and I am really delighted that we are able to help here,” says Christian Haas, who in his everyday professional life at Gerresheimer is responsible for sales of plastic packaging for Central Europe, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. In this respect, it is also worth mentioning that, until now, there has been no business relationship between Gerresheimer and FM Plast. Only the current circumstances have brought the two companies together. “And so, a new business relationship begins, starting with an act of kindness,” declares Lukas Rüsche, Head of Customer Service at FM Plast.

Hand sanitizer is absolutely critical for all support services in healthcare. At hospitals and for rescue and social services, hand sanitizer helps to preserve the health of patients and employees.
