A major pharmaceutical company contacted Keats for assistance in sourcing over 10,000 doses of a childhood vaccine product that had previously proved to be elusive to them.
The client concerned had both a strict time schedule and some exacting batch and expiry criteria; this was further complicated by the recent swine flu pandemic which meant that all vaccines were in short supply. We looked throughout Europe using our many sources and were able to offer two effective solutions to our client that met all their conditions.
Dedicated cold chain vehicles where used to import the vaccines into the UK and into our Keats operations facility. At this point the goods were checked against the Certificate of Analysis, temperature traces were checked and finally the integrity of the product was confirmed. The last part of the job was to deliver the product to its final destination. Again this was achieved using a dedicated Refrigerated Vehicle on a 24 hour shipment.
Keats staff were able to deliver the product with a single batch number almost two weeks before the requested deadline; this allowed our client to continue with their clinical trial unhindered.
