Wolters Kluwer announces Sentri7 capabilities for Direct CDA Automation of NHSN reporting

The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today the release of updates to its Sentri7 electronic surveillance solution.

The most significant is new technology for Direct Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) Automation of reporting to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

With the new Direct CDA Automation, Sentri7 users can now send all reporting documents to NHSN directly from within Sentri7 with just one click. This capability eliminates manual log-in and upload of documents to the NHSN portal, greatly improves efficiency, and reduces possibility of clerical error in submitting reports.

"The ability to send reports directly to NHSN through Sentri7 is a great time saver! With one click, I can send all of my reports straight to NHSN," said Angela Loving, Infection Prevention Coordinator with a nationally recognized women's hospital. "It has reduced the time I need to spend reporting to NHSN and frees up time to focus on other infection prevention responsibilities."

"Sentri7 is committed to streamlining the workflow of infection preventionists to maximize their time preventing infections and minimize time spent on documenting and reporting events to NHSN," said Karen Kobelski, Vice President and General Manager for Pharmacy OneSource at Wolters Kluwer. "The addition of Direct CDA Automation can help infection preventionists allocate more time to preventing these critical infections."

Sentri7 is a web-based, real-time, decision support application that drives continuous improvement and empowers healthcare organizations to achieve excellence in care delivery. It supports multiple infection prevention responsibilities, including investigation of HAIs, isolation management, multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) management and compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
