Gerresheimer invests in Medical Plastic Systems business unit

Gerresheimer Medical Plastic Systems, a business unit of the Plastic Systems division, produces insulin pens for diabetics, inhalers, skin-prick aids and disposable laboratory articles for pharma, diagnostics and medical technology corporations – from the initial design sketches, through tool making and production to packaging and just-in-time delivery.

Gerresheimer operates two Technical Competence Centers (TCC) for medical plastic systems: a central development center in Wackersdorf and another development center in Peachtree City, Atlanta/US.

The Medical Plastic Systems business unit TCC, for medical plastic systems development, will have an Engineering and Sales Center annexed to it.

Gerresheimer CEO Uwe Röhrhoff said by pooling their development, engineering and sales competence at one single location they can further improve service to customers.

Construction work will commence in April 2011 and completion is scheduled for March 2012.
