Within the challenging environment of international clinical study projects, Pierrel Research International AG successfully developed an eDiary solution exceeding in its functionality the standard capabilities of an electronic diary.
This solution called iPAL (Patient Application Link) serves to administer patient questionnaires via comfortable, user friendly and specifically programmed Apps on Android based mobile phones.
The combination of innovative software (study specifically developed App) as well as most current hardware technologies (smartphone) allows bi-directional communication with study patient in the secured environment of clinical trial settings, thus exceeding the limits of pure data collection.
Besides of real time collection of patient data and monitoring of patient compliance, the direct upload of study vital information like blood pressure and/or peak flow values into a clinical database, via direct connection to the respective hardware becomes also possible – always in compliance with the highest security standards and fully in line with 21 CFR part 11.
Bi-directional communication (within a restricted and via access rights clearly defined environment) is a clear supporter to patient retention and compliance, as it supports the direct contact between patient and study team to serve the different needs.
This kind of direct information flow enables the patient to better understand his/her central role within a clinical study and provides direct benefit to a patient who wants to be well informed and transparently understand the background of study procedures as well as of data collection.
We are pleased to offer to our customers this completely new type of service in the field of application software.
The nomination for the Scrip Awards 2012 underlines again our skills and strong expertise in Clinical Trial Technology.
