LipoFIT Analytic - Innovative Diagnostics of Metabolic Diseases

LipoFIT Analytic GmbH is a diagnostic company that uses a novel, highly innovative approach to understand metabolic patterns in relation to diseases or organ status.

Using its cutting-edge NMR platform and an IP-protected evaluation technology, LipoFIT Analytic focuses on the development of proprietary multiparametric diagnostic tests to assess and manage metabolic diseases.

LipoFIT Analytic GmbH uses the powerful nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to interpret highly complex metabolic patterns for the assessment of biological conditions. Based on these data and the sound expertise of the company, it is possible to detect biological metabolic statuses in liquid samples early on e.g. blood, urine, etc. Together with an IP-protected in-house evaluation technology, LipoFIT uses data of relevant endogenous metabolites from body fluid or tissue samples to develop proprietary diagnostic tests.

Diagnostics based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) Data

By using the informative NMR technology, hundreds of ingredients in different kinds of liquids can be captured. Nutrition and person-dependent factors can be eliminated, and characteristic processes are visualised and evaluated, leading to an essence of metabolic compounds that are related to each other characteristically.

This kind of selected substance network creates an individual signature, indicating a certain metabolic status e.g. the health status of the individual. These networks can be determined individually for a variety of questions in the field of personalised healthcare and can help to choose and adapt the right treatment of diseases and patients.

Multiparametric diagnostics

This new approach of multiparametric diagnostics was successfully performed for the first time in the early detection of human renal allograft rejection. The determined network patterns found in innovative urine analyses are used to monitor the statuses of kidney function. Comparing different statuses leads to reliable evidence about emerging human renal allograft rejection, meaning that countermeasures can be taken at very early stages.

LipoFIT is currently developing several multiparametric diagnostic tests for a spectrum of metabolic diseases, which are being tested in different stages of clinical evaluation.

Personalised health care using metabolic patterns

The complex metabolic status of an individual is driven by intrinsic factors (e.g. body composition, tissue turnover, age, human genotype) or extrinsic factors (e.g. nutrients, drugs, physical activity and mental status). In order to separate these predictions from effects caused by a disease or symptoms thereof, the respective metabolic fingerprint can also be used as an effective tool for therapeutic applications. By developing metabolic marker systems, the current metabolic status of patients is continuously examined and categorised. Depending on the marker status, the therapy can be individually chosen, applied or combined for the patient. Thus LipoFIT's novel approach using metabolic data supports physicians developing guidelines for the medication of patients.

Metabolic monitoring for clinical studies

LipoFIT Analytic also provides its proprietary technology to the pharmaceutical and health care industry as a fee-for-service. The company supports clinical studies by providing valuable data on the effectiveness of new pharmaceuticals through monitoring the metabolic status of patients as a reaction to the respective medical treatment.

LipoFIT Analytic is a privately held company, founded in 2004 and headquartered in Regensburg, Germany.
