Haupt Pharma Invests in Modern Tablet Compression Technology

Published 06 December 2011 | By Haupt Pharma

Haupt Pharma invests in modern tablet compression technology for the efficient production of solid dosage forms with adhesive tendencies.

Haupt Pharma, one of Europe's leading pharmaceutical companies for contract development and contract manufacturing, installed its new tablet press, Fette 1200i, at the Regensburg site in August 2011 and put it into operation in September following successful qualification.

Providing an option of external lubrication, the rotary tablet press offers the advantage of compressing products that exhibit adhesive tendencies with minimal use of lubricant. It has 30 punch stations (Euro B) and can process up to 180,000 tablets per hour.

"The machine is equipped with a rotor for the use of matrix segments. This allows a simplified and error-free installation. We can also reduce powder loss significantly," says Dr. Stephan Effenberger, managing director of Haupt Pharma Amareg GmbH.

By investing in this modern tablet compression technology, the site, which specializes in the development and production of cytotoxic and immunosuppressive drugs for oral administration, adds efficient processing of molding compounds with a high tendency to stick, to its range of services and products.
