EggCentris - Reproductive Function Testing

EggCentris is a contract research laboratory for the analysis of the reproductive function, male and female fertility, and embryo toxicity, with unique in vitro technology for fast, early-stage determination of toxicity.

EggCentris is also an expert provider of biological testing for quality control of lab ware and medical devices used for assisted reproductive techniques (ART) in fertility clinics.

In vitro bioassays

EggCentris' mission is to contribute to the safeguarding of the reproductive capacity and the wellbeing of the individual. Our core activity is to study interferences with the normal life cycle by alternative approaches and testing strategies. Hence, EggCentris develops innovative in vitro bioassays which can be put forward for the efficient evaluation of the effects of new compounds or existing products on the reproductive function. With its in vitro approach, EggCentris contributes to the growing explicit demands of authorities and the public opinion to reduce, refine and replace animal testing during product development and safety assessments ("3 R's").

Reproductive health assessment

We provide the chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry with advice and advanced technologies to screen compounds for their chemical and physical influence on fertility and embryonic development. We determine quickly and accurately any potential harmful effect on the reproductive health and procreation.

Multi-parametric in vitro tests

We have developed a battery of innovative multi-parametric in vitro tests, based on state-of-the-art scientific research. We also develop customised testing models to meet our customer's specific requirements.

We provide a fast and reliable alternative to in vivo testing, which enables our customers to:

• Accelerate compound development
• Pinpoint and elucidate the exact target systems of your compound under study
• Anticipate legislation for reducing the use of living animals for reproductive tests
• Save money by applying an integrated testing strategy before embarking on expensive in vivo studies

Where no scientifically satisfactory in vitro method is available, EggCentris also performs in vivo and ex vivo tests.

EggCentris offers its know-how and technologies to the industry and governmental institutions on a service for fee basis.
