PBR Staff Writer Published 15 July 2009

To offer new services through the co-operation between the Celesio subsidiaries

Celesio has acquired Laboratoria Flandria. The acquisition is an addition to the existing network of Celesio’s Belgian subsidiaries.

The company expects to utilise further synergies and to offer new services through the co-operation between the Celesio subsidiaries - Pharma Belgium, Celesio’s pharmacy chain Lloydspharma, Dirk Raes, a provider of cold chain logistics for pharmaceutical manufacturers, and pharmexx Belgium.

The acquisition of Laboratoria Flandria is subject to approval by the Belgian competition authority.

Fritz Oesterle, Chief Executive Officer of Celesio, said: “Together with our wholesaler Pharma Belgium we will achieve significant synergies which will further strengthen Celesio’s position in the Belgian pharmaceutical wholesale market”.
